Old News For (perhaps) New Readers

The root of all upset and suffering is the belief that we are puny separate selves, lodged in a physical body, powered by the incessant thoughts of our personal minds, and living at the effect of an “outside world” filled with independent things, people, and situations.

If we examine closely, however, we are likely to find that . . .

Our bodies only appear to us in knowing Awareness as a limited set of images (if we have the facility of sight) and various, transient sensations.

Our minds, rather than consistent entities, are little more than our current, ever-reformulating clusters of thought.

Who we truly are is the knowing, ever-present Awareness itself to which the perceptions and sensations that make up our bodies, and thoughts that constitute our minds, appear and disappear . . .

The infinite space in which all emotions and feeling-states arise, are fully felt, and then dissolve, while we, the space of Awareness, is never damaged, diminished, destroyed, or otherwise impacted by anything it experiences.

We are empty, open, unobstructed, unperturbed, Awareness.

We are perpetually happy and at peace.
